997s Sales

This car was just sold for asking price apparently - $69.9k - Launch car...
http://ferrari-maserati-houston.ebiz...px?iid=1164891
That comes out to ~$30k off the sticker !!

It was on the lot all of about 24hrs, totally loaded, PCCB's...
Are the 997's depreciating like friggin crazy ?? I've been looking to buy one for a while now, but am hesitant to jump into the game until prices level out - which doesn't seem like it will be anytime in the near future...

'pampered miles' - I love that line. 30% hit in two years? Maybe a touch higher than normal I'd say but not out of the realm of possibility. I would guess a lot of educated P car buyers are wary of first model year 911's hence the resale values. Changes are on the horizon if you believe the media and 'net so that would make us believe more drops are coming.

But the pics of updated front and rear ends complete with LED lights are real and easy to enter production within 12-18 months.

Same thing that happened with the 996 - purely cosmetic. Now, if there are mechanical changes a la X51 standard then the 05,06 and 07's will plummet in price. I can't see that happening though, as Porsche would be alienating a very large segment of their customers.

The previous owner posted about it on rennlist:
http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...d.php?t=295338

The ferrari dealers knows nothing of Porsches. They simply took my car in trade to sell me my new car; they paid me the same amount the local porsche dealer was going to pay for my car.

You should be able to pick it up b/t 67k and 69k.

I've posted this only as a service to rennlist.

FWIW, I lost my *** on the car. Stickered at 99k, bought it with 3k on clock for 85k, and huge loss 9 months later. But I got the Ferrari bug and the perfect car was just brought to the dealer, strangely enough owned by a friend of a friend. Jumped on it; probably should have sold it outright but couldn't wait.

Frankly was shocked to see that they listed it at 69.9. They should have it up for 75k.

The 02 update of the 996 was NOT purely cosmetic. Engine suspension and interior changes.

funny he says that ferrrari dealers dont know about porsches because they offered his car for sale at a very low price. but they obviously made some money on his trade. so who is the one that doesnt know about porsches? looks like someone, not the ferrari dealership, got ripped!

WTF. I posted all the facts. They bought my car for 65k. Same my local dealer was going to pay. Listed it at 69.9k, but should have at 75k.

I chose to take wholesale b/c every hour I spend dicking around with jackass buyers cost me dearly in opportunity cost and frustration. When I sell my current car, I'll consign it so I don't deal with the plebes kicking tires.

And no, the Ferrari dealer doesn't know **** about Porsches. Notice the advertisement simply states yellow calipers and does not list all the details of the car. Do you know what launch cars came with?

Go ahead jackass, talk some more.
