Who tracks their cars?
I'm just curious to see how many 997 owners track their cars regularly. I started tracking my STi 2 years ago and since then I have been hooked, going to every event possible. I've never driven a 997 on track but I think it would be amazing based on my experience with them on the street (my dad has a 997 C4S but is afraid to track a $100k car...he used to track his E46 M3).
I have been curious about this as well. I would like to get a 997 with nice wheels, Rinspeed pkg, etc, but how "trackable" will it be? Would I be better off getting an older 993 for dual purpose?

I too can't afford to ball up my $100K car. I just got another Evo, so that'll be my DD, track day special, winter beater, etc.
Once I feel my skills are up to it (i.e. after the Porsche school, some Skip Barber schools, etc.), then I'll take the 997 out.

porsche advertises the trackability and long track history of their cars, they want you to buy their "porsche experience which is track time to develope your track skills. Porsche seems to contradict their corporate image when they threaten to void warranties due to track time. All porsche clubs whose DE's are at times sponsored by Pcars NA, as well. LIVE IS SHORT ENJOY IT!
PS:
The 997 is a better track car than an older 993, handling and power!
