I was thinking of installing the AWE Headers and Cat Bypass with my existing PSE mufflers ???

any feedback would be helpful ..

C you'll get a CEL that way. The headers do work with the PSE tho..

Has anyone ever tried an 02 Simulator to get the Cat Delete pipes to work without throwing a CEL? Seems like this is the standard solution on every other make....

 

For those of those less informed (that would be me), could you please expound on this? I've never heard of an 02 simulator, and where do we get one?? Thanks

Yes I know what CEL means; I'm referring to "02 simulator". What is that? Something to fool the ECU into not throwing a CEL obviously, but I've never heard of it. What is it? What does it do? How does it do it? What does it look like? Is it bigger than a bread box?

 

headers+cat bypasses+aftermarket mufflers= obnoxiously loud with the tone and pitch of a 9 second honda civic

 

When you run cat bypass pipes, the pre and post cat O2 sensors do not register and will throw a CEL. Not to mention as previously stated it'll be obnoxiously loud.

 

I had a full AWE system. Decided to swap the AWE muffler with stock muffler and see how it would sound. Big mistake! Sounded terrible! Like a Honda with a can. Had to swap back quickly. Now its fine again. Don't do it!

 

wont a getting a software such as GIAC remove the CEL.

 

Terrence, how did the full AWE kit sound (Headers, HFC, Exhaust)?

 

An alternative would be AWE catalytics, AWE headers and PSE Mufflers.

Sounds louder than stock but nice. Compared to PSE it has more bass and is louder everywhere instead of just in certain ranges when the PSE opens its valves. I think it sounds much better.
