ic. in my opinion the power kit is never a good buy but knowing some people would want it so they offered it. i brought up the GT3 because if u value the 16k price difference then the GT3 will be a much better deal although not everyone likes it. i drove a C2S with power kit last year i was not impressed. i could feel the difference but not 16k difference.
On the other hand, opting for the X51 and adding a few other factory options (Sport Chrono, ceramic brakes, sport exhaust, adaptive seats, short shifter, aero package) one has a 996 GT3 equivalent, close to a 997 GT3, but with a Carrera ride, luxury and understated look. I think it's a good option, but to each his own.

Sure, if you option the C4S beyond the TT it would be about the same cost. However, if you assume that the two cars are optioned the same (other than the X51) the C4S would still be about $15k cheaper. I'm also assuming the options are similarly priced for the 4S and TT.

997s
While I love the TT looks and muscle, I really love the GT3. However, as my 997S is a daily driver, I'm not thinking about a GT3. But, I think one could option out a 997C2S, getting close to a 997GT3 (equal to a 996GT3) yet retain the 997S ride and luxury. Plus, you would have a bit stealthier ride (if that is possible in a 997 anyway
) than a GT3. I've optioned one out to near $115k or so on Porsche's website, could get up to $120k, still not close to a 997TT. Plus, you could order one and take delivery much quicke than either 997TT or GT3.

the beauty of these cars is u can order exactly the way u want not to care about it financially. can't put a price tag on being exclusive as long as they understand what's gonna happen when reselling the car.
I would get the Powerkit, Just option for the PSE exhaus they offer, Get the CF Airbox from porsche individually, 200 cell Aftermarket Cats' , Programming( Giac, Revo etc) and headers and that might possibly get you to the 400hp range.

I bought the X51 on my C2S coupe - my first one. I didn't care about the price or resale - its Porsche engineered and therefore in my opinion trustworthy (and yeah, overpriced). I put some Cargraphic Turbo Rs on it and whalla, I am done with my ride (except of course for the whole friggin iPod integration thing!).
I read so much on this board about saving money with these cars - come on - its a PORSCHE - to me its not about "saving" money!
I just know that I have a little more under the hood (26hp) than most other stock C2S buzzing around Fairfield County CT - that's worth it to me!
