Anyone else mothballing their 997?

With the first snow here (DC area), my Carrera S is going to be spending some time in the garage. I knew the snow was coming so I did a mini-detail yesterday in preparation...

Anyone else "putting up" their 997? It's times like this that I really miss SoCal.

Question - Does anyone have a favorite lightweight (indoor only) cover? I'd like to cover it for the sake of dust, but I don't want to scratch it or trap moisture. Thanks in advance?

I'll have pics of my snow-covered A3 shortly...

It's much more snow-covered now, but I don't want to leave my warm place right now...

Oh yes, big time for me lately. We've had nearly 3 days of rain here in Phoenix and my garage temperature actually made it down into the 50's overnight the other day. I can't wait until things thaw out later this week so she can be back in the sunshine again, and nearly 70 degrees.

I definitely need to find another job in San Diego and move back home. All this winter stuff is nonsense. You will never hear me complain about the lack of seasons in SoCal.

Thanks, Raja - let me know what your friend says...

It's not really the snow on the ground that has me worried about driving the Porsche - it's the road salt and idiot drivers around me. The last thing I need/want is to have salt in all the little crevices inside the undertray or to have some moron not be able to brake or turn properly and total my car...

Wait until I lower the A3 and put BBS on it.

A good cover is the Dustop by Covercraft; about $140.00.

For gods sake Cris you're in DC. Rarely does your snow have longevity and it doesn't really come often. Think of those 50 degree days that your not going to want to take the cover off and unmothball the car, but wish that you did. You bought, it drive it and don't keep it nice for the next guy!!

This is why I won't drive it until the snow is gone for the season:
