Removal of Centre rear (LED) brake lamp?

Would anyone know how to remove the high mounted brake lamp (LED strip) on a 997S? Mine seems to have condensation inside the lens.

JCS is infamous around these parts
1. Open the engine compartment lid
2. Remove the 3 torx screws holding the rear panel above the engine hatch
( which contains the brake light assembly )

Have fun.

Anyone know if there is there a step 3? I removed the three T30 screws, but I still can't get the panel off -- it seems stuck. Was it supposed to just lift right off after taking the screws out or is there a trick?

Have you checked Renntech.org? Loren may have an answer for you.

I removed the three torx screws but still couldn't work out how to remove the rear panel. It seemed fixed in somehow. I ended up having my Porsche dealer replace the 3rd brake lens under warranty..

Hmm I looked but I don't see any bolts other than the three torx. Pics attached to help show what I mean.

Yeah it definitely is fixed in there. There has to be a trick after removing the 3 bolts, but I don't know what it is. In the pic where I have my fingers under the panel, that shows the maximum it will come up from the body before it won't budge anymore.

Someone please help

Is it just being held in there with adhesive and exterior dirt? Have you tried pulling (gently of course) with a hook inside the screw holes? I've not tried to extract this part, but have seen this movie before...

You may be correct, it might be adhesive similar to what holds the outer door sill pieces on (the ones that have the aluminum logo in them with your model designation). If it is that, it's unfortunate because that stuff is STRONG. Guess I will just try pulling harder on it. So far, gently pulling hasn't cut it at all so it's probably time to up the ante. Thanks -Anthony
