I agree, the AWE sounds awesome especially when driving in the tunel

Awesome car you got there!
Welcome aboard...
These are the best wheels for a 997
Tell me...I have a few doubts...is that steering wheel an option or not?

Thanks Pilone. I agree the wheels are amazing. I won't even consider aftermarket wheels bc I like these so much. For the steering wheel, see my other post for the option code. Unfortunately, you can't order that option through the Porsche website, you have to have the code.

Did you have that installed on yours? I have heard differing opinions regarding the sport cats and whether it makes the CEL come on. Furthermore, I have heard differing opinions on true HP gains for the following. Can someone "acccurately" give an estimation as well as in your experience which mods make sense (what each mod actually does in noise and performance)

Muffler
Cats
Headers
Cold air intake
ECU

HI MASS
if I had the choice I would go with the same steering wheel, very nice.

I have the full AWE exhaust set up w/ 300 cell sport CAT, I did encounter having the check engine light came on after 1500 miles or so after installing the AWE. I took the car to Circle Porsche to have it check out (great guys by the way). They performed diagnostic and found out that there was something wrong with the ignition timming, so after ajusting the ECU I have not YET seen the problem again.
NOTE: when installing the AWE muffler you will have to tweek the rear sides bumper support post because the muffler is a bit larger then the OE.

regarding HP gain with AWE only I'm not to sure, I had my car dyno with AWE and FVD tuned ECU. got 330rwh

Thanks. Your dyno result proves my suspicion. I never thought you could get 45-60 HP on NA cars. AWE claimed 40HP for the full exhaust system +10HP for the GIAC flash + 10HP for EVO Intake + 20HP for the RSS plenum. That's a total of 80hp? Not a chance in hell.

Other than the HP claims, what is your impression of the exhaust noise. Who in OC did the install and were you satisfied? Thanks for all your help.

Although alot of the time Hp claims are exagerated, they have some truth to them even though they can be misleading.
Most people think that the hp claims that companies put up are peak rwhp, but most of the time their claims are of midrange chp gains.

Muffler
Cats
Headers
Cold air intake
ECU
Muffler = most increase in volume / 1-5 hp
Cats = The more Higf flow they are the more the volume will go up / 3-7 hp
CAI = engine volume will increase a bit over 4k rpm / 5-10 hp
ECU = 5- 10 hp
