Loosing power!

Hello guys i need some advice i have 997 s with full AWE exhaust GIAC chip,EVO intake and 2 days ago i got the plenum installed and today i took the car to do the dyno since i never done it before and they told me that the car is running lean and is loosing power after the run it only got 304 horses at the wheel and 255 lbs of torque.
Any idea of what could be wrong.
thanks in advance

It might be from the intake and something to do with the MAF. Where did you get your dyno.

Take the plenum out do a Dyno run. Put it back in and try it again on the same dyno.

You have know statistical basis from which to draw any conclusions, IMO

Proof

This is further proof that all the 5k in mods: headers, cats, ecu, exhaust, intake, plenum does is to improve the sound. Yea, it does breathe better, whatever the hell that means, but 5k to breathe?

What proof? Better throttle response better, noise for some, slightly more power. That is breathing.

IS it worth 5K that depends how much 5K is worth to you. Some people spend three times that much for the X-51 with about the same results and are very happy.

You missed my point completely. Better throttle response and noise, ok I'll agree. But, 80HP increases? Not a chance. Furhtermore, it's not a matter if 5k is worth it to me or anyone else. The question is do you get noticeable, verifiable benefit and increase from the 5k. Who cares what the dyno says. Does anyone carry around their dyno sheets and their receipts from the mods to prove to everyone that the money was spent? Their are plenty of idiots willing to spend 100k on mods, maybe they have too much money or time. I'd bet that most of these mods only "feel" better bc so much money was spent on them. But, I'd love for someone to prove me wrong bc I'm interested in some of the mods, just not sure which ones on that list.

From what I have been told, it takes the ECU some time to adapt to different modifications, especially ones that affect air flow. So you may want to drive the car for a week or so, and then do a return dyno run.

I really doubt that the results are similar .
The difference is that the Porsche X-51 is guaranteed to yield ~ 27 hp .
To get these results, Porsche does internal engine work, uses a different air intake , different exhaust and a few other things.

Does anyone really expect the same from just replacing an air intake tee ?

It is extremely difficult to get meaningful power increases from an NA engine .
Especially from a state of the art Porsche engine .

You get what you pay for (and with most aftermarket stuff, a lot less )

Agreed. There is a reason why the kit costs 17k from porsche for only 26Hp. Do you really think you can get that extra 26HP from a 1k ECU and a 500 intake and a couple grand on an exhaust? Bottom line, your car will sound cooler, your wallet will be a hell of a lot lighter but you can show everyone your dyno charts to prove money was well spent.

The only way your going to get 80HP is with some type of blower. You may or may not get the whole 26 Hp changing the basic pieces but you will get close
