I've got partial leather, but I used to have a Boxster with full leather, and if there was any way to convert my 996 to full for about $3k I'd be all over it - the car is much more "special" with full leather - it has a totally different feeling - more like a ~ $100k car should feel!

My wife has the full leather in her Cayennne S. It looks great and gives an "upscale" feel to the Cayenne.

I do not have it on my 997S and I don't reallly miss it. IMHO, detailing the interior is a big task with the full leather interior.

i'm so hating Porsche when i pick the full leather option. should be standard on the car in this price range.

Agreed - esp. on 911 models. I can see them skipping it on Cayman/Boxster, but on the 911 (and Cayenne S/Turbo) it should be standard.

partial leather

When you buy a car that lists for about 100k and then have to add another 15k for paint, steering wheel, chrono, leather etc. it kind of chides a little. Some people say go all the way, others say it should be standard at that price. I would rather go withe either the upgrade engine-S versus the 325 hp, C4 vs. C2 etc. and take the standard steerling wheel and partial. That's what makes the world go round though.

Thank you again for the quick opinion guys.
the interior is black, so i thought partial would be fine.
but then again i think i should dish out the 3k or so and
get the whole pkg. still time to decide. Going to stop off
at the dealership to sit in both and get reacquiented.

I'm sure I'm the weirdo but if I had the option I would get the "leatherette" like I have in the BMW. It looks just as perfect as it did when I bought it years ago and their is no need to use leather conditioner. I'd rather drive the car than condition the interior.

Unless you like the look of heavy stitching in your face, don't care about the performance value of your money spent, and are not counting extra weight, go w the partial leather. I did and I sleep well at night. I'm surprised so many feel the extra expense to be warranted in a "sports" car.

I have full leather in mine and I love it. It's worth every penny esp on black because the standard gray/silver stitching looks like deviated stitching.
