997 C4 or 2003 TT

Hey guys, I'm trying to decide between a 997 C4 or 2003 TT. I like the look of the 997 but I can't decide if I would prefer the performance of the TT.

Also, are the 997 C4's wider than the C2 like in the 996 versions?

Any thoughts?

C4's are wider, But the choice is up to you. The C4 997 is slower than the 996 Turbo. Whilst the Turbo is more of a mod friendlier car with many upgrades compared to the 997 Naturally aspirated C4.

I just went through the same dilemma and after driving the 997 I got the 03 turbo. Mine was highly upgraded so not a fair comparison Stage 2 upgrades, full carbon, upgraded audio/nav, Techart kit, rims, GT2 spoiler etc. (It makes me smile just looking at her) I went from a 996 C2, 295HP to the 03 Turbo at 520HP full throttle makes me poop my pants! Hahahahah…

Hey wstsdphisg,

I’m hoping to have a similar experience going from an ’01 C2 to the TT, okay maybe not the poop in the pants part . I just saw a picture of Tim W.’s red TT on the 996Turbo board that is swaying me towards the TT. I’d like to see that car of yours sometime, I work in the UTC and according to your member info you’re in LJ. What color is your TT?

Hey Winston -

I'm off to Japan for a business trip this Friday and will be gone a week, but when I'm back I'd be happy to take you out for a ride. Mine is Artic Silver with Black interior. I bought mine from another longtime 6speeder, I just got it yesterday after a shipping nightmare. The best advice I can give is try both then buy what you like, for me it was the turbo.

I had a 2004 c4s and while it did not have a turbo engine, it had the turbo body, suspension, brakes etc, When i drove the 997, it was day and night, The 997 is much more civilized, much more comfortable and much easier to live with, The c4s was punishing, especially on Ohio roads after the winter road damage

Depends on what you like, TT or NA. The C4 is wider and really nice but I'd take the TT unless you're considering C4S vs. TT, different story.

If the TT is mint with an excellent history and in the colors you want I'd probably take it over the much slower C4. If the rumors are true about the 08's getting a power boost etc I 'd wait and see either way.

I went through the same thing. Used 997 or 996 tt for the same or less. I went with the 997. Happy thus far. I already had the 996 NA car and didn't feel the 996 tt was enough of a change. It is faster though.

Thanks for your thoughts guys, I'm now throwing in a 997 Carrera S into the mix. It's an 05 though. Does anyone know if what the differences are from the 05 to 07 models?
