hit a deer last night.

Yesterday, I was travelling south bound on I380 in PA and a deer (100+lb) jumped in front of me. It was dancing on the highway, as it couldn't decide to go across or go back. The deer hit the left fender, bumper, left light, hood, smashed the windsheid completely and flew off the roof. Luckily, it did not go thru the windshield, or I would be dead. Still a bit shaken.

Any good body shop in North NJ/NYC. I heard roof damage is hard to fix.

Isn't there some sort of deer whistle or something to that effect to help with this problem?

Sorry to hear about that, glad you're okay. I had an identical experience a few months ago - deer couldn't make up his mind about which way to go and BOOM.

I was terrified to drive my Miata at night in our area last fall. That's why I drive a truck.

C'mon out Bambi, let's see how you do against 7400 lbs....

I heard when you see a deer in the middle of the road, the best way to avoid the deer is to drive straight at it. Is there any truth to that?

Would've worked in my case. I steered in the opposite direction of where it was going and the deer just suddenly did a 180 degree turn, ran right back infront of me and BOOM.

Thanks everyone...

I tried, but it stopped and turned back also. It just happend so fast. It is so hard to avoid because you just don't know which way it wants to go.

Can I trust Manhattan motorcar body work? I need to decide quickly. South NJ is too far...
