Hi Ron,
Thanks. I did speak to your wife and then I talked to Brian afterwards. I'm not feeling comfortable of having the roof replaced. I will post some pictures when I have a chance. When I saw peterm's post, I thought it was my car!

very close, but my whole windshield is cracked... will post pictures tonight.
I'm very lucky that the deer didn't go inside.

Been in the same situation, thought about hitting it straight but my car would've sustained too much damage so i hit the brakes hard, and the dumb animal was just standing there the whole time.

So glad to hear you are ok - driving the Merrit Parkway in CT all the time - seeing the carcasses out every morning - 4 the other day....

I always just LEAN on the horn since deer do go blind with the headlights and they can hopefully figure out to run away from the sound....

But that BOOOOOMING 911 horn may not do the trick.....

(BTW - Those deer whistles have to be attached to the front bumper... yuck)

In this kind of situation, what do you do ? pay outta your own pocket or get the insurance company involved?

Can one sue the state DOT for not having enough deer signs maybe?

why would you go out of pocket? It is a chargable accident yes (fault assigned to driver) and may impact future rate increases, but thats at least a 5k vehicle injury covered by collision

It's covered by insurance, no fault accident. The PA state trooper said he sees about minimal 2-3 deer hit a day. I just was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Go to Heavenly Auto in Maspeth, Queens. 718-507-5533

They have done great body work on my 996 Turbo S (rear ended on George Washington bridge by a truck) and 575 Maranello (crushed rear quarter panel)
