I've spent about $12K on various performance mods for my 997s but can't bring myself to plop down $500 for chrome/silver exhaust tips. This pricing seems extreme for an item that does nothing for performance. I like the look but am looking for a more reasonably priced tips. Any suggestions for sources?

 

Check Ebay carefully, I was able to get $675 chrome tips for $200 from a porsche dealer. Didn't realize chrome tips are about 20% larger and really make a better visual appearance on the car.

 

I'm right there with you. I've been eyeing those Techart (Half moon) tips and can't get myself to shell out $800 for them. I guess reasonably priced modes and Porsche don't really go hand in hand.

 

I guess attempting to chrome the existing ones won't hold up. I think the chrome 911 tips are $400. I see them on ebay also, about $200

 

800? i almost bought them at 1200 couldnt find them for less ...but like you i couldnt pull the trigger for tips.i ended up with fabspeed and it looks great

 

The Fabspeed tips are THE BEST looking dual tips on the market. They are still up there at $595 for a set.

 

NJtarga 4 - Thanks for the reminder on eBay. Hopefully the prices of tips will start to moderate in the near future.

 

I just found some Schnell stainless steele dual tips for $289/set. Any comments on the quality of Schnell?

 

I will be in Miami in 2 weeks and am thinking of stopping by Vertex while I am there to see these in person. If I do I'll let you know.

 

Our cars already have the SS tips right? Are the schnell better?

There seems to be some confusion between brushed SS, polished SS and Chrome plated!

I have OEM chrome tips, they don't look as good as those Schnell dual tips. If you like the OEM chrome tips I can sale you my.

 

I don't think they will go on an c2s.
