I think I might keep the dension unit in the trunk and wire the bluetooth unit inside the cabin; then mount the ipod cable inside the glove box.

The question is how to access the firewall ..

Wanted to provide an update with some good news:

After hacking into my Cingular RAZR and hardcoding a new value for the microphone gain setting, I no longer have the echo issue (issue #1). Also, after the mute wire was disconnected from the PCM, I am no longer having a problem displaying and/or accepting an incoming call (issue #3). Regarding background noise, I don't think anything can be done about that.

I'm much happier with the product now, and it works great. Jamey at Rawlings Audio (porschetunes@aol.com) has been very helpful and knows his stuff. I'd recommend him as an installer to anyone. Likewise, Eric of bumperplugs.com has also been very helpful throughout the process.

Feel free to ask any questions on the install -- I know I'm one of the first, so I'd be happy to help.

Just got an e-mail from Eric, more Bluetooth adaptors for the group buy are in. You should be notified shortly, if not already.

Anyone, How did you run the microphone wire to the top of the window?

Un bolt the evaporator. Behind it you will find a rubber plug approx 2" diameter. You can then find another one of these plugs directly above the drivers feet. You will have to remove the battery to get access to this one from the trunk. I used a razor blade to put a slit in both to route the wires through. Keep in mind on the evaporator you are not trying to remove it. I believe to remove it you would have to be underneath the car to disconect several parts. It is not required. You are just un bolting it to get a little room to run wires. Seal the slits with silicone seal.

I'm not sure how Jamey ran it, other than along/behind the liner somehow. He took several interior pieces out, but the install is perfectly clean. I'm very pleased with his work.
