Because I paid a lot more for my 997s!!!! Good thing mine is a stick (although I'm not sure that would make a difference).

But you are right: modded turbo engine vs NA is expected. At least the Carrera S kept up in the beginning due to traction and its superior design.

I guess I know what I'll be buying for a stealthy daily driver....

Def a modded 335i. 997S may have beaten the 335i from stand still to 1/4 mile, but from a running start only a 6sp would have a chance. Chips can boost HP to 375 or so... Still rather have the 997S and place an SC

I actually find that very hard to believe because the Z4M is good for a low 13s 1/4-mile pass and the 997S should be able to make it well under 13s.

Yet, the same 335 gets raped by the Z4M on 3 different runs...

I read the other thread too. I thought that the 997 was a tip and not chipped, but going to be. The 335 was chipped, and we know that in a turbo car that makes a big difference. Also the BMW was a mt. So it had two things in it's favor. That said the bmw is nice.

That race was between two stock cars. The clip with the 997S is up against a modified 335. Two different 335s...

Turbo cars are no joke, this should not come as a surprise. Just imagine what a 135i will do when its released shortly!

Evo, 996TT, 997TT, STi, Supra and now the 335i - easy to flash / tune to make nice gains in power for cheap.

i'm surprised a modded 335 is slower than Z4M.

I have easily smoked chipped 335's in the 1/4 and have been pretty much even with them from a roll with the slight advantage to me.

I know you have some mods, but would you say your car is a particularly fast 997? And you may be an excellent driver. What about doing the plennum?

Have you raced other 997s?
