Throttle hesitation
Throttle hesitation
My car was in the body shop for 8 days and was not driven during that time. When I got it back I notice 2 things:
1. Hesitation when I step on the pedal at a light between when I touch the pedal and the engine revs
2. A noise from the muffler similar to backpressure before the exhaust leaves the car
Any thoughts? Would not driving the car for that time period cause some hesitation like that in the beginning. The car has 1,600 miles on it so its brand new.
Thanks.

When my car has been driven to full op temp then turned off for an hour or so sometimes after I start it and rev it a bit to pull out, I get a hesitation which goes away after about a minute or two of idling or driving. The dealer checked out the car and blamed it on poor gas quality even though I told them I have had this issue using Shell, Chevron or Mobil (all 93 octane). Something's not right and if the computer can't find it, the customer is usually SOL

Was the tank less than half when it went to the body shop? I think you will fine that once you use the rest of the fuel up and refill it should go away...also run 2-3 gallons of 100+ unleaded race gas in the next tank. I am leaving to Japan this Tues. and before I leave I always make sure the fuel tank is full. This reduces the amount of water that can condense in the tank.
