I just picked up a 996 hard top which is the same as a 997 hard top from a fellow 6 speed member but it seems that the mounting "spears" on the top dont mount to anything at all.

So after talking to 4 different dealers it seems the 997 didnt include any type of mounting bracket for the car. They also stated that there is a new mounitng screw that I have to purchase also.

So my question to save money is anybody using the old "spear like" screws attached on the hard top with the old mounting brackets on a 997

The mounting hardware on the left is the new version where the right piece is the old one. I have the old spears on my hard top
