PCCB and track
I see that more and more people are buying the PCCB and much of the problems with the gen. 1 are gone.
But how many of you do tracking with their PCCB brakes? How is the wear on discs and pads? Whats your experience?
I have been recommended to change to steel discs when tracking. Have anybody done this?

I can't say that I've seen a new car with PCCB on the track all year -- 997, 997S, 997GT3 at PCA events and all I see is steel and trust me it's not for lack of funds for the $8k option...
Steel rotors and these calipers with good race pads like Pagid Yellows or PFC 97s is all you would ever need. I ran oem steel with Pagid Orange (mistake I won't repeat) and ran 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off for 2 days straight. Fantastic brakes, don't need any more.
PFC already has the new 2-piece floating rotor (about 4 lbs lighter each corner) on the market for the fronts, I'm waiting for the rears to come out before I get a set. That will be the best of all worlds -- lighter weight, slotted instead of drilled, durable steel, inexpensive.

Yep the steel big red S brake are way plenty for track days and auto X. I put some Pagid yellow RS 29 pads on and the brakes will out brake the tires and me!
Ron, I am with ya and can't wait till the new PFC rotors come out. I can't stand the drilled rotors.

I have tracked my club coupe with steel brakes and stock pads once and found that it is adequate for my track use (intermediate level). It did have some fade at the last session though.
My ex-997S had PCCB and its brake power is stronger in comparison. The initial bite slowed down the car faster than the stock brake, and there was absolutely no fade at the end of track day. When my instructor drove the car, he was surprised at how fast it slowed the car. He said it made it difficult for him to heel-and-toe due to this rapid slowing power. If I have to spec. another 997S, I probably will skip the PCCB as it is expensive and not necessary. But if PCCB costs the same as stock brake, I'll take it any day.

I haven't been to the track yet, but on the street the stopping is unbelievable. My GT3 stops as well as my C2S did with Pagid yellows in them- plus no chirpping. The downside is that on the street, it is very hard to heel-toe as the pedal pressure is very hard and unless you do a 8/10 stop, the gas pedal will still be too low to blip the throttle.
I suspect that the PCCB's will save me from changing out my pads for track events and perhaps bleed the brakes less (suspect that the ceramics may not get as hot). As a bonus, my wheels take 2 minutes to clean. Didn't realize how much of the gunk on the wheels are due to brake dust!
Are they worth it? Who knows, but I do like them. Plus with some light track wheels combined with the PCCB's, that is a lot of unsprung weight loss!

The reason why I ask is because my new car is delivered with PCCB brakes. I would love to use the PCCB setup on track, but if they can't handle it I must get some steel.

A lot of guys are running the generation 2 PCCB's on the track with no problems. If you have them run them! The GT3 and the C2S at the Porsche school run the PCCB's with no issues- or so they told us!
