Cel P2192,p2194,p2178,p2180
Cel P2192,p2194,p2178,p2180
OK Car started getting CEL 2 weeks ago and after 5 months with the supercharger, so I don't think it is a SC issue. The exhaust is fine and I don't have (yet) Sport Catalytic Converters. I replaced all 4 Oxygen sensors just in case that was the issue, but the codes came back after 120 miles.
I cannot feel any driving issues with the codes on, however I do seem to lose about 10% fuel efficiency
Could this be a MAF sensor issue and can I replace or possibly clean the MAF myself or does anyone have a better idea where to look ?
P2192 Oxygen sensor control adaptation FRAO bank 1 upper load range
P2194 Oxygen sensor control adaptation FRAO bank 2 upper load range
P2178 Mixture adaption checksum bank 1
P2180 Mixture adaption checksum bank 2
Thanks

Thank NY Seal, I sill have the original Porsche cats.
Did you have the Fab speed sport cats, and did you replace them with the same ones? Also, did you need an ECU update for the cats and and ECU update from EVOMs?

i did get the fab speed sport cats, when fab speed sent me the new ones the mechanic said they were a little bigger than the ones that went bad.
no evoms did not need to reflash or update the ecu.

I'll contact Fabspeed on Monday. I already spoke with Mike at EVOMs today and he will get back to me on Monday. He told me several weeks ago that there is an ECU update if your using sports cats, but he will confirm with his chief mechanic Monday.
Hopefully its as simple as new cats
Did you drive normally while you were trying to slove the CEL isssues? I don't see any major driving issues other than a possible 10% in fuel efficiency

sorry i missed the thread thats why i didnt respond sooner ...............yes it did drive the same way except the check engine light was on and it bothered the **** out of me so i took it to the shop and waited to fix the problem.performance wise no noticable diffrence

This is really strange, I drove 120+ miles after installing 4 new O2 sensors and the CELs came back on. I used my durametric to remove the cels and so far have gone 85 miles without CELs. I know they will come on again soon..
When you hade the problem, did you have the same CEL numbers? Did you change out you MAF?

Dealer said my cats are fine, but I may replace them anyway. The CELL drives me crazy

to be honest with you im not sure if it was the exact same codes as those but im going to call the guys at RPMnorth and ask them to look at the thread maybe they can tell me if they are the same........and no i dont think they changed the maf.
I'd bet on a fuel mixture issue related to your programming. You've got a supercharger, bigger injectors, a plenum then the Fabspeed headers and mufflers with the stock cats (lots of back pressure) in between. I don't think that the GIAC programing for this kit was designed using this set up, so you're probably looking at custom programing or going to a less restrictive cat.
I have the same set up with the 100 cell fabspeed cats and have never had any issues except the problem with stalling at idle early on, fixed with the second generation program actually Beta tested on my car. You'll also get a performance gain with the sport cats.

I agree. The fabspeed sports cats is the way I am leaning anyway. I just want make sure it is not something else than needs to be fixed. Its just kind of strange that it took more than 1000 mile of driving with the SC before I received my first CEL

That is hard to figure, though if you're current programing is relatively rich for the stock cats, maybe over time they were degraded. Prior to installing the supercharger, I had the full Fabspeed system with the EVO intake and reprograming and had lots of CELs until the supercharger went in, and then none thereafter
It's crazy, we've all had the same issues. I had the whole stalling at idle until the new program too. At least the issues are consistent. It's just like we're all on various points of the sc experience spectrum. I still have stock cats (nothing else is stock) and haven't had a CEL for a long time... like 10k miles. But I did go through a ton of mess at the beginning, that's for sure. But now, it's great. I'm wondering if I'd notice any difference with the Fabspeed cats since the plenum is going on next week. Also, someone should really come up with a way to get real, focused ramair into these kits. I have the decklid with the scoops in it on the car right now. It'd be cool. Anyway, back to the cat thought... I just don't want to start worrying about cels again.
