damn tire

got in the car this morning to head off to school, got about half way there and the right rear tire decided it didn't want to hold air anymore, looks like something punctured it, very possible, but i didn't see anything to avoid. pulled over to change tire got the old tire off and the sidewall was ripped on the backside, probably from riding on it flat for about half a mile so be able to change it on pavement and not grass. police pull in behind me and continue's to give me a ticket for expired tag. it expired yesterday. so i get the spare tire on and get riding down the road to go back home and sleep and drink off the rest of the day and the spare tire goes flat. ran over something else. woo hoo. i say **** it and keep on truckin, but slower and get home and there is virtually no rubber left on the spare rime and no bodywork damage done. off to get a new tire

How old is that tire? It might just be the angle, but looks like there's dry cracks on the top of the sidewall. Tires dry out, you gotta be careful.

well, just got back from the dealer and had just the one replaced for now, had them order the other three while there, and i paid for the one they did and i was quoted at $168 for the one, went to check out and the total ended up being $16.09. yea, that isn't a typo. 16 bucks and a dime.

the rim is straightened out now, took some high grit sand paper and sanded the gouges out and then re-cleared and it looks good as new
