New Camaro pics
that is true. its lacking concept style and grit. it now has watered down production aspects. so it loses ALOT.
Am I missing something here? I think it looks pretty damn good, even with the funky headlights. If the target weight is really less than the Challenger (which shouldn't be a problem) and the Mustang (I'd be pleasantly surprised if it weighted less) with that kind of power on tap, the new Camaro ought to be a hoot! The Camaro definitely looks better than the Mustang and Challenger IMHO.
Any word on pricing? I really hope they can keep the base Z28 under $35K. If Chevy prices the V6 Camaro to compete with the Mustang and uses the 300-hp direct-injection V6 that they just started using in Cadillacs, they'll have no problem selling them by the truck load. If the Z28 has a base price that is about the same as a fully-loaded Mustang GT, they'll sell even more! I really hope GM gets it right this time and doesn't screw it up like they did with the GTO...

Your not missing anything here and it does look good. I'm rooting for the General on this one. I get it is not the final car, understand the head and tail lamps are as well as the interior are not the final design. I also think it is shaping up as the sharpest of the competitors, however, something is not quite right when compared to the concept. I do not know if it is b/c the roof has been raised or the addition of functional engineering such as the window gaskets and glass surrounds.....just something is not carrying over as I thought it would. Its is close and I like it...just hoping it they pull white sheet off and it is a dead ringer to the concept. As an aside, I have a source of sorts who happened to mention the performance projection of what I'm assuming is the S.S. If my source is correct, and I believe him to be, hold on to your hat!
I think that car is hideous. Haven't we learned anything by now? Aerodynamics, lighter weight construction, etc.
Nobody can argue with the driveline. It's got an LSX (helllo aftermarket!!!), and will have a TR60-60 in it. Thats reason enough right there too stick with the GM product.
To me the car is just extremely ugly, and wayyyyy over weight.
I'll pass. Good luck to GM, but what horrible timing for something like this. The consumers pockets are clinched pretty tight, and nothing is going to be changing in the forseeable future.
I expect this car to shine for the first year or two. Then go the way of the GTO.

I have loved it so far but I also think the concept cars look so much crisper and sharper that the above pics. Just look at the difference between the silver car and the black car, it's crazy. The silver car looks so much sharper and better I dunno I'll have to wait and see but I will say that I am waiting for the real car to come out because I'm very interested.
Well the official weight has not been stated. They say LESS then the Challenger and Mustang though. So from what I have read it should weigh just a little more then your car....
I am sure GM will make there car as light as possible. I was reading in Car & Driver that dodge was having a difficult time making there cars any lighter due to the ever changing government safety restrictions. These restrictions also play a lot into the design I imagine as well (excluding head lights)
