New Camaro pics

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/10/s...-without-camo/

Seems like they've broken out the headlights to rotate ala the RS, body looks good but can't say I like what they've done with the tail lights.

its abt 3 yrs since concept is confirmed to be produced. why so long and still not ready? even building a new plant wouldn't take this long...

GM is going to launch it when oil hits $4.5/gallon?? I hope they make a high output v6 version and not a v8 alone in this inflationary economy.

Car looks hot but GM better hurry!

Having seen the concept in person at various events over the last two years, I proclaimed my intention of ordering the big motor conv., especially after seeing the drop top prototype. Heres the perverbial rub though, something is not right. And while I truley get that this is a mule, the lines are not nearly as crisp, the hips not as wide and defined, and overall......just not as crisp. The other thing that jumps at me is how the concept does not look like it was made out of recycled plastic and the mule panels scream plastic! I think it is a dangerous proposition for GM to continualy display the concept b/c in the end, we actually expect it to be a dead ringer for that car after seeing over and over and over and over....I digress. Who knows, maybe Ed will show up early next year w/ the concept and say...."This is the production car, you have been seeing it all along!" Now that would be special.

I liked it in the Transformers movie, but don't like the above pics at all for some reason.

I have read on other GM forums that the head lamps are NOT production, as are many touches. They decided against camo due to all the press spies. So many features are not production.

Yes, no matter what you read the engine choices are not 100% yet. There are a few ways for them to go from what I have been told....

L76 (like in the G8 GT) with varible cylinder tech for the Z28 with about 350-370 HP.

A LS3 with about 425-440 HP for the SS (Z28 if they go a step ahead with the SS).

Maybe a LS9 for the SS or some special package. May be called ZL1. Would have about 550 HP.

It should weigh in a few hundred pounds less then the Mustang and Challenger. So there should be no issue at the stop lights.

I'm on the fence as to if I want one. I'm not gonna go by these pics, that would be stupid. I will only buy one if they make a version with a weight of less then 3800# and more then 450 HP.
