How do you guys feel about this car?

Thats a good thing that it looks smaller in person. I don't like massive boats. I think I'd end up with the GT because used a year or two old it will easily be psh, low $20k vs the GXP being probably $27k+ used... Is the GXP THAT much better?
The GXP has an LS3 and 6 speed stick. Thats about it. The thing is that the L76 V8 in the G8 GT is actually the same as an LS3, the heads and intake are just different. Slight modifications to the L76 will give you the same power as the LS3.
As for the transmission, the 6 speed auto hasn't been to bad to most, and it does have a manual mode. Still, you can order the Tremec 6 speed used in the GXP for $3000 or so, and after a couple of grand for the modifications to the engine (to make it an LS3), you'd still be under the price of a new G8 GXP. Most people at g8board.com are just going to turbocharge the L76, take a compression hit (having to buy premium gas), and still get more power. Note that performance parts for the G8 GT are readily available, as it is the Holden Commodore, just with Pontiac badging and left hand drive. Plus, rumor mill has it that the 6 speed manual will be coming to the GT next year as well.
My mind is go with the G8 GT if you want to buy one. The GXP is predicted to have horrible resale value, the GT not so much. Don't ask me why, because I don't know.

AWESOME car.... I love mine!

As for the navigation, there is a good reason why they didn't offer it.... a lot of Holden owners have had problems with theirs.
I have an L98 with the 6 speed auto.... and yes it is deceptively fast
Just had some coil overs and new wheels fitted too, here is a pic....

And one of the front (the way it should look
)

All I have to say is take one for a test drive, you're bound to like it, maybe even love it
