Probally better than the Z. Vette's handle pretty good.

handling is fantastic! this is a great time to get a Z06 as well since you can get upwards of $16K off sticker!

You will love the Z06. I will also out handle your Z. Go for it.

while it will out handle most cars on the road the z is unforgiving and you can get into trouble quickly. it is not for an amateur driver. the car really doesn't build confidence but once you have confidence and know the cars limits it will drive around almost anything else.

hows it handle on the REALLY tight twisties??

ive driven a c5 z06 supercharged putting 550wheel. power is insane, but it feels soft around the corners. i feel the nose is too long. and the car has too much tq coming out of the apex. lets admit it, the z0 will spin tires EVERYWHERE. my z is nimble, very nimble, it has a tiny bit of understeer but it moves like it is on iceskates. can the z0 do the same?

that is because you are used to your car the seating position in the z is MUCH farther back. it takes a week or so of driving the z to get your bearings on size and the way it turns it is different cause you are physically farther back in the car. once you overcome the differences then you can start to push the car and the *** end is twitchy. it "feels" that way but will hold on to much more then you feel like it can at first. this is a car you have to learn to trust! but when she is ready to give way there really isn't much warning.

oh and to your last question lets just say there is a reason you see the vette on more road course events and not so many auto-x events.

The Z06 is larger dimensionally, yes, so it will skew your senses until you drive it for a while. It's a very different feel than say a STi.
However, the car has a much higher threshold than your accustomed to. It will outperform you before the other way around. You'll find that your right foot will change the attitude of cornering much more so. And you can got WOT out of many apex's, depends on how tight the radius is naturally

A vette isn't that great on tight autocross because you can't use the power, it's a bit too large, and it's easy to roast 'em.

Just test drive and hit a freeway onramp

Be careful but I think your choice would be clear.

Well said.

The ZR1 is easier to drive hard and so is a Z51.

A C6Z is significantly better than a 350Z in every aspect. It will handle a lot better, providing you know how to drive it.
