ACR vs. Non-ACR Difference Around the 'Ring?

I should probably take this to the "other" Viper boards, but since I'm enjoying 6speed this evening, I thought I'd ask the question here. It's obvious the ACR package is NASTY, but it got me thinking about how much of a difference it makes while running the 'ring? I've seen the times for the ACR and was just wondering what you all think a non-ACR car would do the course? Unless someone has numbers I've never seen, I'll guess we're all going to be speculating. So, if you've had a chance to track both cars (probably highly unlikely, but what the heck...) what's your guess?

Standard 06 viper is I think 35 seconds back on the ACR at the ring, it was on wikipedia for a while so take it with a grain of salt. Some of that is power and tires, but I think most is the down-force from the aero kit. Its a some ridiculous high number.

That sounds about right for the '06, but remember, the '08 has a substantially retuned suspension, better tranny, upgraded diff and of course the additional 95 horses. The ACR is without a doubt a better track car compared to the "standard" Viper, but I'm guessing the difference is somewhere around 10-15 seconds. Just curious what others thought.

Yes but with the factory tires getting that down at 100% is next to impossible. I would bet that a standard 08 is ~10 seconds faster then a 06 just due to gearing and power.

The ACR has many options that makes it perform better than the standard model. Ground effects, DOT track tires, Adjustable Dampners and track alignment.

It depends on whose driving. A manufacturer effort with a manufacturer motivated driver could yield a 7:36 to 7:39 lap. Closer to 7:36 if the driver has the benefit of a cage.

Rumor has it that GM actually timed an updated S2 C6 Z06 just before setting their 7:26.4 lap in the ZR1. They managed to get into the 7:39s before guard railing the car and then decided to keep the whole thing quiet.

Independent times in a non-ACR car could produce a 7:50ish lap.
