Well, you'd really be offended then if you ran your Viper at Bandimere

The track prep and air is key and where we run at MIR in Maryland where my bone stock ZR1 with (drag radials as the only mod) ran 10.69 recently we definately have the track conditions, but its not all track as people think. I grew up in Jupiter Fla and raced there at Moroso, now PBIR as recently as 4 years ago and I ran times in my Turbo Trans am within .1 and 1 mph of my best times in that same car at MIR in excellent conditons and might of been able to match them with more runs and did run exact same times in 5.0 mustangs down there as MIR when we had the good air in December in Jupiter. The real reason you are seeing the fast times in the northeast are a couple of reasons and good cold air helps for sure but all these runs are done at track rentals where the track is prep is perfect and you get to make a lot of runs perfecting your driving and the times just come down. If your not at a rental you might only get to make 2 or 3 passes all day long and its hard to put up record numbers with only 2 passes, hell you might spin the tires on both runs or have a bad leave and you run a crappy number and think man this thing isn't that fast but it really is you just are getting the passes to prove it, and when we do rentals you get those chances and the records follow. The location of the track helps but you can get close to those numbers or better them at other tracks with enough practice and seat time.

I agree totally and in no way am I trying to take away from what you guys have achieved in your stock cars. I just think most people think it's all the car when we know it's a lot more then that. Track location, track prep, weather and some very skilled driving are what gave you guys these times. As you can see in my Bandimere video, the ZR1 is a very small part of the equation.

Certainly agree. That's how i got my fastest time in my E63...at Atco on a track rental day. The Viper is a bit harder to master, as you know, being a manual. I have never taken it to a track rental(this year will be my first time at Atco). E-town track prep on a Fri street night has alot to be desired.
