I don't remember ever saying the CTS-V wasn't quicker (straight, track) but to say that the M5 can't touch the V is simply ridiculous. And in case everyone in here forgot, the V has a 56 HP edge over the M5 and is competing against a car (M5) that is virtually unchanged since 2005. Let's resume this discussion when BMW releases it's new M5 and we're not dealing with a four year difference in techonology!

 

The M5 can definitely touch the CTS-V especially considering you can now get a good M5 for less than what a 2009 or newer CTS-V will cost you. S85 is a beast at higher rpm, but once the mods start the V is a clear winner as it will make much more power for much less money.

 

I've got some crow to eat fellas.....I was next to a CTS-V at a stoplight today and the car is not bad looking at all. From the side profile it looks pretty damn good. I don't know what it is about the pictures (perhaps its the wheels???) that doesn't make it look nearly as good as it does in person. I rescind my "butt ugly" comment.

 

Wife said the same thing about the GT-R. When she saw it in person, she completely reversed her position.

 

I love the way it looks. But I already have the sedan modded to my satisfaction.
