Bone stock they are about ~ 540 rwhp and if you do the intake, long tube headers, and full 3 inch exhaust with a good catback you are looking at 600 or more to the tires. ( after tune)

Hennesey got a little bit over 610 rwhp if I remember correctly. They used a K and N intake and I believe their headers. Belanger makes the whole system including headers for about $4k, or you can do their long tubes and do the rest a bit at a time.

I remember back in the day that TNT had the record NA with its King Snake Viper that put out 777hp to the crank. The car crashed on the highway if memory serves. I think some of the guys from TNT worked for Hennessey at one time. I remember reading about both the TNT King Snake and the Venom 6xx in one of the rags back in the day. I havent heard of anyone that has surpassed that NA number since. This was on a Gen II GTS of course.

Thanks for all the great info guys. I know it took a while, but i've purchased a Viper!!! Went with a '97 GTS, blue with white stripes. I'll be picking it up in about a week, then driving it back. I can't wait to drive this car, i'm already having trouble sleeping because I can't stop thinking about it.
The car is 100% stock and has a little of 13k miles on it.

What an amazing car, the 97 cars also have forged internals from the factory so they respond really well to boost.

The forged internals played a big role in my choice to go with a gen 2!

So is it the '97 that has the lumpy cam? I've read both that it was in the '97 and that it started in '98.

I ran LTs and Mopar exhaust (same as Borla but different tips)... sounded wickedly deep and aggressive. Corsa's always had a slight tinny/ricey sound to me for some reason... more higher pitched.

Maybe I am spoiled by the Gallardo and M5 V10's but I like that scream at higher rpm.
