To me, they just seamed less than ideal quality and lacked support that I am used to with Viper seats. It wouldn't keep me from buying the car by no means. It was just an observation.

Aside from the roofs flying off of some of the 2006's the cars can take a beating! My Z06 is one of the best cars i've even owned.

I agree, I changed the seats and I have KW Coilovers.

stock - very reliable

Even stock though I would change valve springs and retainers out to something better, the stock ones are notorious for breakage.

modified - clutch will become a issue, the ZR1 is a cost effective replacement though as well as other companies like RPS, Spec, Centerforce.

The rear end if you drag race it will break. RPM makes a nice upgrade

Bang for the buck the Z06 is a great all around car.

You can't beat the car for the money it's light with 505 hp and has a dry sump, titanium connecting rods and intake valves, aluminum chassis, magnesium engine cradle and a near 50/50 weight distribution because the gearbox is in the back with the fuel tank like a 928/944. You will love the price of parts and insurance too.

+1 C6 Z06 is an extremely nice car and the maintenance would be cheaper than a porsche I would imagine.

Stupid question :

What a basic oil change would cost at the dealership please ?

Expensive to maintain ?

Thanks for the input!

My C6 is about $80 for mobil one, the Ls7 holds a bit more oil because of the dry sump, so maybe $100 and some change for the dealership to change the oil and filter.

I have a 1LZ so I don't have the telescoping steering and I got the seats from http://www.caravaggiocorvettes.com/ they use the stock brackets, sliders and they come with a bypass for the side airbags.

The KW V3 were $3500 and they give you great feedback and a better handling. The leaf springs are easy to take out, 2 bolts on each ends.
