I know y 2004 Viper took some serious runs over the 20,000 miles I owned it and it never flinched. Those cars are built to run hard... so if your ever thinking of getting one do it. A lot of fun to drive since it doesnt have any nanny tech.

Yep. My nsx was a nice lil ride but had to be so gentle with it. Viper just seems to love abuse

 

This dipstick has already totaled 2, yes two, Gen 2 Vipers.

Plus, he is a cop that street races.

About 2 weeks ago I was ready to go to work..So I was already in uniform and walking to my car when three houses down the street I herd a lot of loud noise and cursing ect. So i stopped looked and listened for 30 seconds..

Their were 4-5 people from what I could see and two 40 year old guys were just yelling and screaming right in front of the house in the drive way about 10 feey from the road...

I thought about it for a second and said..HMM..This isnt my jurisdiction and started to sit inside my car....(not being my jurisdiction means that even though I was in uniform I have no more power than any other citizen to do anything in a legal sense)

So like i was saying I was about to sit in my car when I noticed all my neibors were out side watching this as well and the ones directly across the street from me gave me the What the **** look..As in your a cop and your just gonna drive away look...

Reluctantly I stepped out of my vehicle and started walking down the street fully knowing I was not in my jurisdiction and as well that my gun was at work..

I get about 20 feet from the house and the smaller of the two 40 year old males starts screaming erratically and grabbs a knife and runs towards the larger 40 year old male with the tip of the blade pointed towards his gut...As he was 5-7 feet away from him at full stride I yelled..

"STOP PUT IT DOWN!!!" he turned around and saw me in uniform and quickly threw the knife down like he never had it..Then as he realized that it was me his neibor he said.."Just walk away man..walk away.."

I told him...' Look man it's me your neibor..But i could have easily been the city police who im sure will be here very soon and if they saw what you were about to do with that knife you'd be throwing your life away"

He then saidas he was crying " he touched my daughter..he touched my daughter" That ***** ****er touches her!"

Now up to this point I was handling everything good..I see a lil bit of crazy stuff at work from time to time and have been in the middle of knife fights at my liquor store...So I was good....But when he said the guy had touched his daughter..the same 7 year old daughter that plays with my 7 year old daughter..I started to lose it my self.

but I kept it together and got him to come around the side of his house and tried to calm him down..But reguardless of what i said. All he could think about was his little girl..He continued crying and then the loud scream resurfaced and he continuosly rammed his head into the concrete wall of his home..two times and he was bloody and dizzy. On the third time I tried to stop him and he took off running around the house to the larger male..

They ensued a 45 second fist fight and then the smaller male who was still in a rage over his daughter tried to grab the knife again. family members kept it out of his reach...

Then suddenly the larger man ran to the closet and grabbed 3 foot long AXE and started swinging it frantically...Aiming for the smaller man..3 members of the family jumpe on him risking their own lives as he relentlessly swung the axe..

At this point I was only 10 feet away and let me tell you the movies do not do a good job..When their is an enraged person swinging an axe 10 feet from you it is immensly scary..

I made a quick left face and ran back down the street. I wanted no part of this situation...As I got back to my house the city police arrived. I wanted to tell them what I had observed as my word would be the end all as a witness and considering Im law enforcement..But then I thought that if someone "touched" my daughter would I do the same thing..

I couldnt get the axe welder arrested with out also getting the knife grabbing father arrested. So I said nothing and went to work.

I often wonder how it would have played out if I was already on duty and had my weopon and on my Jurisdiction...Ive been trained that if someone has a knife axe ect within 21 feet of me that is throwing/killing distance and that I can take the shot..

But I learned a good lesson..Unless your in a prediciment were you can 100% do somthing..Just be a good witness and call the police...Dont be the guy strolling over to a knife/axe fight unarmed
