Ok, i visited my friend and dealer last Saturday to see what's new there
Since always i loved Vettes especially Z06 and ZR1 i took a close look at a 2009 Z06
I was really impressed by the so readable control panel (analogue speedometer is useless on a 911). The doors ofcourse were look quite cheap but didnt mind much since there were so much space inside.And that monstrous transmission tunnel .Also these seats didnt seems that bad at least no worst than my 996 standard ones. Beautiful exhaust(standard) and overall great shape. Im not sure about building quality but these car makes 996 and 997 look like well builted Beattle

 

Personally the Z06 is one of my favorite cars, considering what it offers and how they look and perform. Just search for some Akrapovic tuned Corvette's on Youtube and check out the sound there!

 

Yeah i ve seen those. One friend saw an Akrapovic Z06 once accelarating. He said he has never heard such a thing before. And keep in mind that this guy owned cars like 575M, 996 Turbo S, GTR 700 and more...

I've got the Akrapovic system on my 08 Z06 and love the sound. Awesome car for sure..

 

I'm currently shopping around for an 08. To be honest I am a big guy and the Z06 fits me perfectly. I personally love everything about the car, but I may be a little biased

BTW in 08 it got a new tranny (t60 vs discontinued t56), new steering rack, and some other minor things such as a new FOB and CB center console.

 

Well as far as i know until 2010 Z06 have minor differences.The new carbon package Z06 is basically a ZR1 with LS7. That is the best Corvette ever made for me since it is the lightest Vette in production, 1380 kg and had the advantage of the monstrous 7.0 liter engine. with 5.000$ can easily reach 610hp and be as fast as ZR1 if not faster.

 

Something like this? We just finished up a Z06 which is tuned with an Akrapovic exhaust system, pretty good overall package!

 

That is a monster. However i dont like how it sounds at idle.

Pretty sure its an aftermarket cam in that car, to give it that nasty idle. I love it to be honest lol. But a stock Z06 is actually pretty quiet, almost too quiet at idle. You will get a nice loud bark at cold idle, but once the engine settles down they are pretty tame.

 

I think the new Z06 with the Zr1 exhaust is the best Vette ever made. Otherwise i would like a Z06 with an Akrapovic system...

 

If funds are no issue, I think Akrapovic is a definite worthy consideration for making a great sound!
