Not that I am buying one now.. but u look around and all i see are bad reviews about classic car dealerships... finding one as a personal sale is difficult as well...
if you wanted to buy a decently clean muscle car for a decent price where would u go ?

We do a lot of paint work for them and they definitely have some nice cars for sale.

Rick Hendrick from Rick Hendrick Motorsports has a dealership that sells classic cars, some from his private collection, others bought just to sell. You can contact someone at Hendricks.

See I am concerned about shady dealers, I heard bad things bout the one in NJ...but at the same time those people also bought the cars site unseen. I would obviously go do due diligence on it before purchasing it.
anyone else have any spots in NJ/NY ?
There is a newspaper / classifieds paper called Special Interest. .. not sure of the whole name cause I left it at work, but it listed a bunch of for sale by owner oldies that might qualify
I'll bring it home tomorrow

Here's my rule... if I can't put my hands on it to see it or have someone I trust do it, I don't buy it.
I purchased a Corvette off a dealer in Texas off ebay. The guy had like 30-40 pics showing the car. I called him up and asked if there were any paint work done to the car. He said absolutely not.
I proceeded to tell him that I've been in the body shop business for 30 years and if there were, I'd tell. No, no, no... none.
I paid my 1000.00 deposit, bought a plane ticket (one way...stupid) and flew down there. The car was a POS. It was damaged, cracked, split, blah, blah, blah... he just took pics at angles that didn't show it. It was horrible. Someone painted the doors and never removed the side view mirrors, they just masked them off. Now the paint is all flaking around the mirrors.
Not only did I never get my 1000.00 deposit back (ebay chased him, he closed his account, I found him again and he closed it again) but I had to buy an overnight flight back (almost another grand)
That story is actually how I found this site. I was about to purchase an Z4 M from a dealer in Texas. I was having someone do an inspection on it and I've got such a bad taste in my mouth from the last time, I decided that if I can't put my hands on the car personally, I'd pass.
So I ordered a new Porsche 981 S and here I am.
Sorry for the long story.

^ ya c thats my point ... i heard bad feedback on 1 dealer..actually supposedly bruce willis got screwed...
but it also is within an hour from my house so I suppose i could always go poke around there a few times... see what my vibe is and do due diligence on the car i find and like...
its one of those things that it seems like more trouble than its worth until u actually get the car... cause i could take the 40k walk into a chevy dealer and drive home with a new camaro ZL1 for 55k ...
but i have my z06 , with about 490-500 to the wheels and i feel like my next toy purchase should be something old school

Are there any local car shows?
We have a big one here on Long Island, every Sunday, usually some nice muscle cars for sale.

I just picked up a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 Numbers Matching from exotics classics in Syosset. They have a nice selection and they seemed to be nice enough people. They know some but not a whole lot about classics so do yourself a favor and do a lot of research before you go.
