Just saw this beauty, but the indents along the sides were painted red (which I thought looked VERY sharp). How do you think that would affect the price of the car? I haven't been able to find any with that color scheme.

For that model, I consider the two tone paint to be a traditional look. Typically, I think, you tend to see more of a colored body with a color insert. I don't think it will negatively impact value at all. Go to Google Images and put in C1.
That blue looks great on your Porsche.

Karen,
If you are not familiar, that is a 1962 corvette. 1961 was the LAST year for the side indents (coves) to be painted a different color than the rest of the car. In stock form, no 1962 corvette came from the factory with two tone paint. All 1962 corvettes were one solid color.
That being said, some originality is lost and the car will be worth somewhat less to an investor/collector. I am not big on originality but I am not sure why someone would choose to make this modification to a 1962 Corvette. I am all for modifications, but this one does not make sense given the year of the car.
On 1961 corvettes, the indents were outlined in chrome so the two tone paint looked more appropriate (i.e. the two differnet colors on the car were separated by the chrone around the indents). In 1962, the chrome around the indents were removed so if this area is painted a different color than the body, there is no line of separation between the two different colors. This is strange modification to a 1962 Corvette. That being said, if you are concerned about this, the car can always be repainted to original specs.
Look at the two links below, notice the chrome trim around the indents on the 1961 Corvette:

The difference is subtle but does not change the fact that no 1962 corvette left the factory with two-tone paint. The 1962 Corvette is beautiful. I've always had sentimental attachment to it since the 1962 was my fathers favorite corvette. One day, I will own one. If you prefer the inserts painted in a different color than the rest of the car, I would suggest that you shop for a 1961. On average, they are cheaper than the 1962's as well so you may be able to find a better deal.
