Most Wanteds Boss 302

Well after my CTSV kind of let me down at Sebring I decided I needed a better track toy. So I traded the V in for a Tundra for towing duties and bought a 2013 Mustang Boss. Initial impression is the car is very nice for a Ford LOL... I started the mod process right away. Im aiming initially for cooling, handling, and weight reduction. Car is in need of a detail. Car still has soap from tire install on the tires and the worst part is the adhesive from the dtripe on the hood. It has been a complete nightmare removing the stripe/ glue

Mods:
Ford racing adjustable suspension on K springs
Ford Racing Brake Duct Cooling kit
Forgestar CF5 18x9, 18x10
Hankook SR3 275/35, 285/35
Magnaflow system, catless w/ xpipe but only running axle back at this time
hood destriped
seat delete
trans scoop

I had a new stang with the modular motor. hell, I have owned about 10 stangs in my life.
I left the catback and went with the Ford racing headers and off road cnc xpipe. Do you know the car picked up NOTHING.
But when i stuck the magnaflow catback, it picked up 3mph in the quarter.
The throttle body was worthless as well.

gears are a huge gain, since they are always undergeared from the factory
and i am not sure about the brakes on a boss 302, but most stangs were under braked as well. excet the Cobras.

Car has 3.73 gears so it's got plenty of gear. It's a road race car not 1/4. Also not going for any more power. Could care less what it runs or how much power it makes. I've had 8 second capable evo's which made over 800whp and weighed 2300#. Brakes are brembos and I haven't heard anyone with any shortage of brakes. I'll be swapping to SRF fluid. Installing the brake cooling duct kit. And will swap pads to either hawk or carbotech. Weight reduction is my priority. I took a ton of weight off the wheels at each corner. Cf seats will be installed. Already have Therese seat deletes. So I'm guessing 3300# won't be an issue. I'm not shooting for any records any more. Just want a fun weekend track car that can handle it's own without huge failures. And no I don't plan on lowering it any more. It's perfectly balanced and the trans scoop sits pretty low. First track event is August 25/26. We'll see how she does and I'll post up the go pro vids. Thanks for all the compliments guys.

OK, here are a few quick sound clips. I was loaded with stuff in the trunk for a BBQ and had the wife and litte guy so nothing crazy. But everyone has asked for some sound clips so hopefully this will hold everyone off until I get it on a road course Aug 25 & 26. Vids dont do it justice but it sounds good. I am debating on even installing the catless mid pipes and x pipe??? Of course this vid is with the restrictor plates removed completely on the side exhaust. If I do the catless mids and x pipe it will remove the side exhaust and will be run like a standard GT. Tough decision....

Not looking for power upgrades. I use to race the 1/4 mile in a car that made over 800whp and weighed 2300#. It made for very short amounts of enjoyment 9,0@157 playing around. Im building this car for road course and am looking for long term reliability. I am concentrating on weight loss both static and rotating. Safety is another issue. But cooling, brakes, and weight loss are my main concerns. I could care less about whp and 1/4 mile times right now. I love 1/4 mile stuff but have just done it for too long. It got to the point I was trying to figure out why I was spending more and more to enjoy the runs for even shorter amounts of time LOL. The runs were over in a blink. Im loving the road course. First day out I got more seat time in one night than I had gotten in years at the 1/4 LOL... I actually get to enjoy the car now. At some point I'd love to build another 1/4 mile car but not any time soon.

For me the fun part is building them up. I'll probably put this one up for sale in the near future. The build is what I love... I'd like to end up in a GT3RS at some point. Not in any rush. This car only has 800 miles on it

Car looks great. What made you decide not run a 18X10 square setup?

Mostly because I have heard that some people like the feel of the staggered set up on the track better. I figured since the car was set up from factory as staggered I should keep it staggered. I didn't want to upset the balance. Believe me it was a tough decision. I almost bought the Ford BBS wheels that are 18x10 squared. But between the cost and few things I read I thought I'd play it safe.
