C8 Corvette Falls off 2 Post Lift

Thought I'd post this here and as a warning. Many of us have lifts in our garages now. There are choices between two post and four post lifts. When I did that analysis for my own garage, I concluded I would be much safer with a four post (many other reasons as well, but a different topic).

This very new C8 was in for service at a Chevy dealer in Fla for a noisy cooling fan. With mid and rear engine cars and especially with an asymmetrical two post, the COG is a concern when lifting the car. It would be better with an asymmetrical lift to position a mid/rear engine car on the lift backed in. Nonetheless, it is NOT enough just being careful the car is stable on the initial lift, but if/as parts (weight) are removed from the lighter end, an initially stable car can become unstable quickly.

In this pic, it looks like the tech removed both front wheels to reach the cooling fans. That weight alone could have caused the tipping point to be reached.
