The NASA facilities at Johnson Space Center are worth a visit (remember, "Houston, we have a problem"). If there are no shuttle flights scheduled during your visit, you can even tour Mission Control.

The weather will be cool by our standards, but it seldom freezes. Here is a link to historical data for Houston weather WashingtonPost.com: WeatherPost -- Houston, Texas Historical Weather

Some friends from Austria came to visit a few years ago and were expecting to see my horses and oilwells. They were a bit disappointed to find out that we don't all live like the TV show Dallas.

My take on Houston:

1)terrible landscape scenery
2)excellent female scenery
3)excellent food and restaurants
4)excellent shopping

concentrate on food and women and you will enjoy Houston.

You're coming during a good time. Weatherwise, it will be very mild compared to what you're used to. All the places mentioned, but I'll add Kemah boardwalk. Take it in during the weekend and you'll see an endless parade of million dollar boats go by. Galveston has some great places to eat and drink. Make sure to make it downtown and the world famous Galleria.

Don't do NASA its a piece of crap, I just did the tour back in february, boring and stupid it not like it used to be now they have the McDonalds type game for the kids and some stupid showings and that's it. Mission control is a BS scenery not worth a minute.
