I was wondering? Is there a cleaner for this stuff? mine seem to have become a little cloudy and wierd, cant seem to get them to shine like new, any potion you guys use to undo the salt and ice through the winter?

Thnx

First off, is your lip polished? polished with clearcoat? or chrome?

If the lips are just polished, try a metal polish (I like Meguiars NXT) and then seal them up with some Wheel Wax or Poorboys Wheel Sealant. If they are polished and clearcoated, try claybar, then seal them the same way to prevent future damage and make cleaning easier.

Where do you live? How much snow do you get? In Wisconsin, no amount of polish, Rejex, wax, sealant, etc. will possible protect your wheels from road salt. Switch to winter wheels/tires...use snow tires on narrow rims.

It depends on the type of lip, and what it is that affects it. Whatever it is it can probably be polished out, but your best bet is to either not drive it or get winter wheels and tires.

Switch to stock wheels for the winter, just to be safe. Wisconsin and IL winters can be brutal on wheels, especially with the massive amounts of salt on the roads here.

well, depends on which aftermarket wheel compnay you go with...many wheel companys such as HRE have opted to go as a "no cost option" to chrome lips that way you dont really have much of a problem with road salt...

Chrome will pit if you drive your wheels in the winter time when there is salt on the ground. After the chrome starts to pit, it will chip, after it chips it will crack.

Chrome and polished are horrible in the winter, polished is bad because it will just oxidize beyond belief.

Best thing to do is get machined lips, never have to worry about anything (but they dont shine as much).

Sounds like yours are not cleared? You will have to polish with a decent compound like Wenol step 1 and 2 then throw some flitz on it or Some Wenol sealer that still wont help against salt, Salt is a bastard!
