Ive done it, back when they use to discount the car to pick it up there. I was going to pick one up in Sept. but opted out because they want $5K just to pick it up there. $5K includes insurance, liscense and one night in a hotel. They have determined they can make money at it so it has turned into a profit maker for them. F-class air to Stutgart is about $8K, a week in Germany is probably another $5K so my guess $20K will get you euro delivery.

If you go onto the Porsche website, it gives alot of details. I am thinking of doing it. I just got back from Stuttgart and went to the Porsche Factory, Weissach, and then a week trip with the Porsche Travel Club (same as with ED). It was the most extraordinary trip we have even taken. The best part was being able to drive the Porsches on the autobahn and through 14 alp passes - all at speeds that you would never be able to do in the states. It was the most exhilerating experience that cannot be put into words. I say go for it - nothing will ever compare in your lifetime. It was worth every single penny. Porsche treats you like first class all the way.

How much cheaper is the car? Is it really not discounted at all? I've got a friend who takes ED of a different BMW every summer and he nearly pays for the trip with the discount.

BMW has one of the best ED discounts, Porsche on the otherhand offers no discount, you must pay a premium to go on ED.

Every car manufacturer that I know of who offers European Delivery gives a discount on the car, some ok, some quite good. Except Porsche, who charges a hefty premium for the privilege of picking up your car in the Fatherland.
