Insurance On Your 997TT

I am looking for insurance on my new 2007 997TT. I know it is a personal thing, but if you guys could let me know what range I should be looking at I would really appreciate it. My current insurance company (Geico) has quoted $1,350 for 6 months. I have never owned a car like this before so I am somewhat ignorant on how much it should be. I also understand that there are a lot of variables in determining an insurance rate. But a ballpark figure would be nice.

Does that amount sound right? Should I shop it around? Can I get a better rate? Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance!!

I called to get a quote for my new 2008 997TT (don't have it yet), and it was only an increase of $68 every six months more than my 2004 C4S - Progressive. (total wouldn't help you cause we have four cars and three drivers on our policy).

It all varies from state to state so it would be hard to gauge your prices. Age, record, deductible are all factors.

More so those in your state should give you a quote. For example crocrr has Geico and when I got a quote from them for $1700 a year I took it compared to my Travelers for $2200 a year. Well they called me back a week later and told me their underwriters wouldn't insure the car because it exceeded 190mph. They dropped my coverage. I have nothing on my driving record and I am 37. They said they just don't insure these cars. Well crocrr proves that they do!

GEICO $788 per yr

lots of variables

less then 7,500 miles per yr

FL driving course discount over 50 yrs old

zip code is low crime area

34 yrs with same Co.

No moving violations in the past 10 yrs (thanks V1)

All the above factors figure in and two 911 TT owners probably will not pay the same rate.

Been with GEICO forever and they have treated me well. TT is same cost as the 996 Cab.. Now figure that one out.. I "aint" complaining,,,, lol

Could you Geico guys tell me what it says on your policy papers for "model". Geico said they did not show a 997 Turbo, 911 Turbo or even just plain Turbo for 2007 or 2008.

YOU hit the nail on the head and its not something I want to pursue but they dont match the VIN with the correct model #.

I dont want to stur up a can of worms so I just accept it and smile.

I was looking for new insurance a month ago just to check prices as I have been with progressive for years. Both Geico and Allstate indicated that they don't insure the 911 Turbo. But it might just be in my state.

Geico does not insure the 911 Turbo but as some have mentioned they don't match VIN to model. They have 911 Porsche and some agents use that. They will not insure a GT3 and now the Turbo. I live in Georgia and was insuring for Florida Plates (registering car in Florida under 7500 a year).

Unlike OLD MAN DON (CABMAN) I am 37 just kidding So I get the Sr. Citizens break. haha

Allstate would not cover me either. It was State Farm, Travelers, and Nationwide.

RandomName = no kidding. I should have said it ran out of space and those are just printed specs not proven
