It's definitely worth getting. It's the limited slip differential. It'll help to keep the power down around the corners by re-routing all available traction to the wheel that needs it the most which in most cases is the outside wheel around a corner.

If you want more info, do a search. This has been discussed many times in the past. FWIW, I would definitely get it, especially if you intend to track the car or drive it in the snow.

Jeff...I'm in NJ and have it...you are welcome to take my car for a ride. I don't think you would notice a difference if you didn't have it but for me with the weather here and my limited skills I figured it was a very cheap insurance policy.

Thats one option worth getting especially at that price. +1 for safety and can't hurt resale value down the road. Go for it IMO.

Ridiculous that it has to be made an Option.. On a Porsche Turbo this Should Automatically be Standard, hell even subies and mitsubishis get them standard.

I couldn't agree more with Rambino....Porsche continually rachets up the lesser list of items which, at one time, were OEM standard. I was very displeased to discover the lack of LSD on the 996 version. It made tuning the beast more expensive.
