If you had a choice...

I am looking forward to my next car, I was originally going to purchase a Maserati GranSport, but after much review and debate I decided to hold off and wait for a little bit to perhaps get something "better".

I have narrowed it down to two choices, both within the same price range. Either a Lamborghini Gallardo or a Ford GT.

Now I know Gallardo's love to be driven , hence they are reliable. But I have no idea how the Ford GT is for somewhat daily driving, any major problems, maintenence, etc. I know these two cars are different, but my love for raw sports cars lead me to the Ford GT.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

G as a daily driver for sure. It doesnt seem to be able to take as much abuse though. If you want something you can driver hard every day, go with the GT.

neither! but first how many miles are you talking about here?

the ford gt is hard to park because of the doors. the lambo like the ferrari i have heard is high on maintance when milage piles up.

get a used sl65 for a daily driver and the gallardo or ford gt for a weekend car. i would choose the gt!

One thing with the Maserati you can pick one up for cheap these days. Get a nice 2005 GS for 55k-60k

www.maseratlife.com is a great spot for maserati information

Audi R8. Quattro for the winters, my RS4 (same engine) gets 20mpg and you can't beat the sound of the 4.2 V8 IMO. Ford GT is the worst for a daily driver. At least the Gallardo is 4wd but no where near Quattro. R8 like my RS4 will do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and do the quarter mile in the mid to high 12's stock.

New Gallardo has a 3yr unlimited mileage warranty... thats a bonus.

Ford GT has basically a bulletproof mod motor in it. I doubt you will have problems for the first hell probably 100k miles.

You can get a door hinge kit for the GT that fixes all the tight parking issues. Downside, I believe it's around $14k (don't quote me on that, but it's $$$)

I wouldn't feel great leaving either one in a mall parking lot.

IMO. Buy yourself an 05' CL65 for a DD, and a couple year old Gallardo to pimp about on the weekend.

FGT without question. like it or not, G's are common and not all that impressive IMO. FGT is much faster and with a few mods ridiculously fast. i think it looks better inside and out too. plus years down the line it will retain more value than a dime a dozen G. the FGT is rock solid in regards to reliability and will be much cheaper to maintain as well.

in my mind, the FGT is the obvious choice. if you can, you must.

ps. those gransports are nightmares

The FORD GT for sure, if you want a Lamborghini get a Murcielago or LP-640 Murcielago.
