If you dont get any buys, take it down to a jeweler... I took my figaro to James and Sons in Lincoln Park (clybourn and north, roughly) and got a pretty decent deal...

I'll start the low ball at $50
This is a genuine offer, but obviously a low ball to get things rolling (OP was friendly and straight to the point in PM).
EDIT: OP maybe you can get a highres pic of the 14k stamp to help other members see that it's real gold too, just an idea.
