I love the cleaning aspect, too. Just wipe your car with a wet micro-fiber cloth. Perfect color combo.

What all did they cover? I assume you mean they used a invisible bra/film on the car?

Everything except the rear bumper, rear deck lid and windows. All edges are wrapped so you don't see the edge of the film (including the mirrors). Used film made by www.ventureshield.com. BTW, VentureShield was purchased by 3M, so that gives me confidence in the quality of the film and adhesive.

This would seem to work with a dark colored car as your black GT3RS. This would not work out well over long term in a light color or specifically white.
I would never do my entire car.

How well does this hold up over time? Does anyone have long term experience with this stuff?

It holds up pretty well as long as you maintain the plastic consistently with products such as Plexus. If you use caranuba wax on it, it will discolor. I've had clear bra on all my cars, the longest being 3 years. Over time, it becomes more dull than newly waxed uncovered paint, and becomes noticeable as well.

Great question, I'll give you my experience.
Had "Stonegard" (3M) installed on my 996TT when new (Dec 2001). Five years later, had it replaced when my installer moved to Avery film (never liked the look of the 3M film and had a few nicks in the film). When he pulled it off, paint underneath was perfect...had only a few small (dime-sized) glue marks to remove. No stone chips or dents in the paint of any kind. Re-polished and waxed with P21S and installed the new film. Perfect

Had the whole front wrapped on my GT3 (entire bumper, fenders, whole hood, plus wheel arches, mirrors, door edges and handles, A-pillar) and it looks great. No issue with discoloration (white car), most folks cant tell as the whole sections are done with hidden seams.

My installer (David Dearing at Speedfilm) is adamant to use ONLY Plexus on the film.

So far, so good. Couldnt see having a Porsche without it.

Bill

Hey Bill, I agree with David, use ONLY Plexus on the film. Many detailers say it is ok to use wax, but it really isn't because some wax will discolor and dull the plastic.
