Thanks Kirby. You need to stop by one of these days. We need some artwork for the walls. They look mighty bare.

I've ordered a few pieces for my old 996TT and found John to be a class act. His products are very high quality and he stands by them.

Nothing for the Vantage yet. We could do the hump in the middle though. Aston is a tough nut to crack... the interiors have a complex combo of wood, leather and silver plastic that make it difficult to fit in carbon. But I would love for us to get a development car! Aston certainly has produced some of the most beautiful cars recently.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Welcome. I am planning on ordering a few carbon parts for my interior very shortly in order to have them when my car arrives. As I have some factory carbon and want to add the carbon Techart steering wheel, I'm worried about having carbon from 3 sources in my car. Do your parts match the factory parts exactly?

We do not guarantee a perfect match - carbon itself will vary from one roll of fabric to another. But we feel we get very close. We always offer the customer the option of sending the parts back if they are not happy with the OEM match. So far (no BS!) we have not had that happen.

What parts are you getting from Porsche? The common ones are shift ****, handbrake and once in a while the console. Check with Techart on the steering wheel - the 997 uses 'standard' carbon where as most Porsche steering wheels I've seen use 'twill' - the same carbon used on the 996. You'll want to ask them because the twill will for sure not match.

I have CF on my Techart steering wheel and as long as you specify that you want the smooth clearcoat version then it will match the OEM CF quite well. I also got the interior a-pillar mirror triangle CF trim pieces from bumperplugs.com and again they matched quite well too. No "twill" patterns.

Interesting that they would refer to it as the 'smooth clearcoat version'. Just make sure you ask for the 997 'standard' carbon and it should be fine.
