I dont think the tip stepdown issue was ever truly resolved, primarily because the tuners are, in general, apathetic about the tip tranny. Many of us tip owners who have put some serious miles on our cars are ready for the next (or first) step in modding our cars. It really does not appear that ANY of the major tuners - EVOMS, AWE, PROTOMOTIVE, GMG, FVD, etc. (sorry if I left out anybody) have developed a 700 crank hp package specifically for the tip. Most tuners are still either looking for tip test mules to fabricate a tip program or just not making the tip equipped TT a priority upgrade package. I would think the latter is the reality, unfortunately, as many tuners may feel that, with PDK around the corner, why invest in a tip program. At least that is what it seems like to me - which really sucks. If I'm wrong, kindly show me the beef ? Where are all the upgrade programs specifically designed for the tip ?

it is already a very limited market so i don't think most tuners can justify the R&D unless they have help from the customer.

How is it limited? There are plenty of tip cars around the tip just takes more development.

Evo for some reason hasn't updated the community on the state of the tip, seems like they just gave up on it.

So every tuner has a problem with the throttle step down? I guess the only solution is not to press the pedal all the way down and put yourself in the correct gear, then it isn't a problem.

Curio,

Not pushing the accelerator to the floor all the way appears, superficially, to be the answer. However, I love my tip and really want a substantive permanent solution to the tip modding conundrum. I have 9000 miles on her now and she is clearly begging for more boost. I just want to, like all of us, mod it correctly without screwing up the car.

I understand, just because you have a tip doesn't you should be left out in the cold and it doesn't make you any less of an enthusiast.

Why not chip it anyway? The step down may be annoying, but since you understand the issue you should still be able to enjoy the added performance until the issue is resolved completely.

I'd take a serious look at the EVOMS 700 package, but, regardless of what the tuner states verbally, there are simply no written warranties, other than Magnuson-Moss BS, if the tip tranny gets overpowered. I do know that EVOMS had a beefed up tranny for their heavy 996TT packages (not sure of hp, but I thought for the GT800/850 packages). So clearly, there is a point, in terms of hp, when the tuner will be compelled to beef up the system. I could always do the EVOMS stage 4 package, but it seems like a waste with the 700 kit around the corner. Hey EVOMS guys, are you listening ?

We've been waiting for along time now .. They promised something in last november but still no updates just a couple of close customers of EVOMS that have that package so i suggest you give them a call and see if its coming out soon or you better go with another tuner because all you will need is new upgraded turbos and a flash

"Not rubbing it in" Been rolling the EVT700 since November and it will be worth the wait-trust me!

Went from 610-690R to EVT700. Very glad I was able to upgrade along the way to experience the different power levels of these packages.

Take it or leave it: Some of you may want to stage up rather than have the "whole enchilada" delivered at once. EVT700 is no joke on pump and you be prepared on the race program if you drive like johnny rocket.

Sorry gents, cant get into the delay info.

N2it you were such an early adopter for the original 610 it was only right that you were part of the first pair of EVT700s in NorCal Or something like that.... I'm really amazed what a difference it is myself. The turbos just spool up so much faster _and_ have more top end. Been talking to the Tubi guys on that "race" exhaust- will have more info this week....

going from 610 to 690R is just straight pipes and race fuel? 80hp? isnt that alot? or does it involve more upgrades?

Why not? Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't your car a tip?
