Brand New GT3 RS - Sitting in the Dust...
Sorry for the poor cell-phone quality pic!
I took this yesterday just outside our local dealer's workshop. This GT3RS is awaiting PDI and delivery. It was there, parked on the side of the road, in the dust without any protection, next door to a cement factory, for a couple of days.
Get this straight: this is not a car parked there by its owner; this is a brand new car, just off the boat, parked there by the dealership until it gets prepped for its eventual owner.
This morning, I drove past again and noticed that they had removed all the stickers inside and outside, put the spoiler lip on and parked it on the other side of the road, still in the dust. All this, WITHOUT EVEN WASHING IT! You could see the fingerprints and hand marks all over the car.
And it is not the only one in this situation: another RS was there too, parked perpendicular to the road on a mound of sand, together with 4 or 5 turbos (including cabs).
Unbelievable!

well seems pretty dusty outside that Porsche dealer...
...don't know how dusty is Dubai but aside all the pretty pictures they usually show, I remember a video shown on the board about a CGT and an M5 drifting on the streets of Dubai and once they got off the principal streets everything seemed pretty dusty... I guess nothing much you can do just ride it down as it is...
...we have it pretty bad down here in Mexico too, roads are bad, dusty conditions, traffic... I guess we just have to deal wit it as it comes...

It is impossible to avoid the dust, you are correct. What is more of a crying shame is that these cars are parked on the side of the road for days at a time, in a large industrial area where 5 mega trucks drive by every minute, next door to a cement factory!
might as well get used to it, living in Dubai it could be parked at the Burj al Arab and it will still get covered in dust. Although I guess they could take a little better care of it....
