ML55 big brake kit development

i know of someone who is making a ML55 ML500, ML430/320 upgrade kit for front 14 inch rotor 6 piston kit. Let me know if you're interested in a buy for this development, the more we can get the cheaper it will be. Should be cheaper than the brembo kit for this car.

Does this someone have any TRUE engineering experience? Who will be making the rotors? Drilled or slotted? Whose calipers?

another member from a different forum offerred the kits that are being developed. Once we had enough people interested, which he has, he will put together the specs.

Meanwhile, I do know of a group buy potential for AP racing brakes, if we get 5 people interested we can get ML W163 kits for under $3k.

So no specs released before interest gathered? Kinda odd.

Stillen offers the AP Racing stuff. Dunno if they have a W163 kit put together or not. I'd be curious whose rotors they're using though.

i don't find it odd at all...the first part was getting interest and seeing if they get enough people to help offset the cost of customization and development so we're pretty much only paying for parts once everything is said and done.

the group that expressed interest is also giving feedback of what requirements they would prefer and the group consensus will dictate what it will be. (needs, preference, and convenience, value, etc.) Stillen does have a W163 kit, I inquired about a group buy and they said they will extend a 30% discount if we get 5 buyers. But the other group that is interested in the custom set is waiting for the results of the one who brought the idea u.

I just don't see why you'd stray away from a proven kit like Brembo. Yes, a custom kit may be less money but at what expense of performance/reliability/fitment/etc? Quality custom components don't usually = less money/cost/expense. They're two different worlds.

If you have a link to any details, please pass it on. Thanks!

Do you have an ML w163 chassis? We're finalizing the details to the bulk discount order.

They are Rotora custom big brake kits.

http://www.rotora.com/

It was already custom developed. The cost will be under $2000 and you can place the order directly with them. email me at rueym@click4prepaid.com for more details.

This would be a great upgrade. The stock brakes on the ML55, and the 163 in general, definitely needed improving.
