Whats my 2008 worth??

I just bought this Turbo back in Feb. and have added the HRE's, clear markers and tint but have an opportunity to buy a highly tricked out 997TT in white (which was my original desire). The question is what is reasonable to expect in a straight out sale on the open market, not wholesale or distress sale prices. The car listed at $132, the wheels were extra of course and it has 1500 babied miles. No nicks, marks or stories. Full warranty. I am really wanting this other car but cannot justify having two, nor afford it. The seller is not interested in a trade so I would need to move this first. Any ideas?? I just need a range to decide if the math works.

Brett --Why not sink the 20K which you would lose into tricking out this car ?
It would probably cost you 40K to get into that other car . 40K can buy a lot of mods for thar silver car.

Either white or silver are both great colors and in terms of resale any traditional color ought to hold value about the same.

Yeah, thats kinda where I am at. Doing the math is what the question was about and the math doesnt look that good. I did check mannheim to see what the auction is bringing and the numbers are pretty strong. I will see whether I am going to sell it or mod it.

And all along you had a chance at a White One and you passed and several other people said you should have taken the white one. Stick with what you have and put that money into yours. 20K south plus tax. Of course it is your money..

I'll throw some ideas --disclaimer --these random thoughts are opinion and not meant to offend but rather to help . His car looks great even stock. I am sharing these ideas with the hopes that Brett might see how I might add to his silver car to dress it up to fuse the silver on black .

I like both silver and white . My last 997S was silver . My first 993 was white . Exterior color is not the main issue but rather that he can enhance what he began and make this great car look amazing (again my opinion) .

First the amber side markers can be replaced with clear ones . The dealership ought to have given them for free .

Second --on a silver car the silver Porsche badge looks nice . The gold badge and amber lights stand out too much .

You could do nothing more than those two things and it's 200 bucks or so or you could read below this red portion at what I think really enhances the arctic silver .

Third --Meshing the black wheels on the silver could use the Techart type 1 in black or carbon .This adds value to the car, performance, style, and beautifully contrasts the silver and brings out the black.

I went to the search feature . I found one but it's not a large photo of an artic silver car with the Techart kit and black mirror inserts.
Look at the avtar in post number 2 . I think that would looks sooooooo good . This is my favorite choice .
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...t=Techart+Pics

I'll add another option though -- The Werks1 aerokit is carbon fiber and out of every exterior color I saw it on the silver car and it looked amazing too. It's simply a matter of taste . Post numer 2 shows it on a silver car .

Sounds about right. once the car leaves the lot the value has taken the hit, plus the aftermarket stuff doesn't really add value to the car unless you find a very specific buyer.

He's right. I'm the worst one for trading for color or dirty floor mats. I usually end up regretting it.

You could also consider some custom floor mats and pedals and then start with the cheaper but cool eye candy. That stuff is cheap and it's like you've got a new car.

THe markers were changed a while ago. Revis shamed me into it! As for the badging I am going to look at the options. I have a Werks1 splitter and diffuser in my garage and the car currently has a GMG carbon airbox. I also have the H&R springs sitting on the shelf. I just need to take the time to drop the car at the dealer for install and alignment. I am weighing the options but the ability to just get a car already done with the dyno sheets is enticing.

If you sell to someone in Europe, you'll get top dollar. Read the posts about dealers selling "used" cars back to Europe since the Euro is so strong.
