Tubi and fab speed cat by pass...
I think TUBI has 200cell cat in their exhaust system...I wonder if its possible to remove thise cats and replace then with Fab by pass mufflers or jsut straight pipes...I dont need to want any cats here...I want great sound and more power
Anyone know if its possible to do this ???
If I remove Cats will the be any ECY mistake or some service lights be triggered ??? or may be a failsafe mods...I dont even know how this 997 TT exhaust system is made...where all the sensors and etc...I did this with my M5 and E55 without much porblems...but I dont know how it works on 997 TT...
Thanks for your help

As an aside since you are in Russia and have this car you must be doing well. I apologize to you, though. I did not look to see where you were. If you want I will call fabspeed for you and ask. However, as I understand tubi you cannot open the system like you can with fab speeds set up.

if/when you remove the Cats from your exhaust, you will trigger a check-engine light if you are running a stock ECU file. It is possible to run high-flow Cats with MUFFLER by-passes, which is a pretty mean sound, or if you can live with the CEL and have a way to turn it off when you put the cats and mufflers back on, then you can run straight pipes from the turbos.
Fabspeed's muffler systems are GREAT for this as they incorporate v-band quick release clamps which make switching exhaust setups simple and quick. PM me if you are interested in knowing more.

The 200 cell cat Tubi Street Exhaust system is fully welded so it doesnt come apart in pieces like other systems.
But what you're describing ; 'a Tubi w/ no cats' is called a Tubi Race Exhaust, they just came out w/ it.
If you look where the 02 sensors hook up (yellow caps) there are small tubes which prevent CEL's.

Thanks...so you think I can modify my TUBI exhaust to race version ???
Cut the cats out...put straight pipes in place and move O2 sensors...
DO you know how those yeelow caps prevent CEL ???
On my E55 1st I extended the wires and moves secodary 02 sensors behinds secondary cats and then when I didnt ECU we just disconnected 02...

cut the cats out weld in stright pipes with o2 bungs. get a reflash to have the light turned off.... there you go.
and also if uur buying a 997 and paying custom fees to get into your country i highly doubt that 20 or 30 dollars worth of phone calls to diferent tuners will break you ....
its like having a 300k car and bithcing about how much it costs to fill your car up lol...

I agree - Thats what these forums are for. If you'd like to avoid tech questions theres always the 'off-topic' forums...
May be I am not posting in nthe right forum ??? I dont know...maybe this forum if diff then other but I thought its 997 TT forum and that is where I can get msot of the answers...I doubt that most of 997 TT people check all other forums...not enough time imho...but lets not get off topic...dores Giac has such flash to turn off CEL lights ???

No, that's not what I was recommending. I was saying that if you wanted a Tubi Exhaust w/ out cats just buy the Tubi Race Exhaust. I wouldnt advise cutting off the cats on your system, I bet the cat system mufflers were not designed for that type of modification. The mufflers on the Cat system are entirely different from the Race Exhaust. Just buy the Tubi Race Exhaust, the one I posted a pic of. You could sell your other Tubi exhaust on ebay.
It's NOT the yellow caps that prevent CEL. The caps are removed when you install the 02 sensors. The part that prevents CEL are the small tubes. You know what, it would be better if explained in a picture. The circled pieces are what prevents CEL. Tubi has a similiar piece on their 200 cell Cat Exhaust but it screws on instead.
TUBI RACE EXHAUST (circled tubes that prevent CEL & also notice it's 1 muffler)

A pic. I took of my Tubi Cat system (notice 02 adapter & 2 mufflers)
Thanks for your help man...if its not possible then I think I will jsut keep it as it is...they sound nice anyways...any clip on the net of TT with Tubi with Tips ??? I didnt find any...
