I'm confused...2009 Turbo or not

I was reading on the forum yesterday and saw that one member on here has ordered his 2009 Turbo coupe. I am interested in doing the same but my local dealer is telling me that there will be no 2009 Turbos. Anyone who can give me a definitive answer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys for your help.

What my local Porsche dealer told me last week, when I finalized the purchase of my 08' 997turbo cab,was that the 09'would have only minor cosmetic changes, and that there would be no new turbos till 2012...with no 10' or 11' models planned
I'll be at the factory next month,so maybe I can find out a little more
I desperately wanted my cab by June /July for some sweet open air touring P-style...so I chose not to even think about waiting for 09's.I only have a month to wait and the wait is killin' me

Your dealer is wrong. The 2009 Turbo is definately coming but has not been officially announced by Porsche. Eric the Plug Guy says it will be announced at a Porsche event in Spain in June. Eric has been 100% accurate on everything he has posted thus far, so I tend to believe him.

There is a smaller dealership where I live and I was in looking at leather samples on Friday. The smaller dealership knew nothing about the 2009's but they have been unprofessional and highly uninformed up to this point so I took that with a grain of salt.

The dealership I ordered from is a large NorCal dealership. They received allocation for a 2009 coupe and cab a few days ago. It apparently just showed up their system Wednesday. There is no order guide or pricing information available.

There are a few new options:
619 or 669 Bluetooth Wireless Receiver for Telephone
671 PCM Voice control
686 XM Radio
670 Universal Audio Interface
The following could NOT be ordered:
220 Rear Differential Lock
CUR PCM in Leather
XNG Instrument Surround in Leather
CNE Spoiler Lip Painted
CNG Lower Rear Apron Painted
There may be other stuff, but that is what I know at his point. It sounds like PCM is being updated. No definitive word on engine or face-lift updates in 2009. My order shows an Order Reference No and an Order Status of MFGCNF.

09 turbo starts shipping in August.
Bluetooth and touchscreen nav are the only changes.
There is a new Auto tran in the works it will be a mid year change.
2.8% price increase from 08.

I'm in the same situation. My dad is planning on getting a 997TT Cab Tip but if the 09 model is getting some changes then he will order one of those instead of just going for an 08.

So what is guaranteed on the 09? The new sequential auto/manual tranny? Exterior facelift? Power increase?

Thanks a lot!

Not having a touch screen nav system is a little lame in my opinion
Not knowing if Porsche nav system is user friendly(i'm guessing not)the first thing i am getting in France, before going to Germany:is a Garmin Nuvi 760 with touch screen interface...

Option 220 can't be ordered? I wonder why Porsche did that if it is true?

Rumor is it will become standard as it should have been all along.

The Porsche Nav UI is absolutely dreadful. I'm usually at my destination before I'm able to enter its address in the Nav system. If I actually cared about using a nav system I'd have an aftermarket one like the Nuvi.
